Why I’m Trying to Write Everyday

They Don’t Pay Me for This

Daily Blog #13

I wanted to challenge myself.

I’m failing.

I’m sorry.

I got caught up with a lot recently. A lot of offers on the table, a lot of misconceptions that I was too afraid to fix.

People will see you write and think of you as just a writer.

I’m not just a writer. I can do more. I am more than ink to paper.

I write with my best interest in mind, I write everyday because I want to attempt capturing the human experience in written form.

I create because I choose to create. I try my hand at entrepreneurship because I feel like that’s what I want at that moment. I am autonomous, I am my own person. I return favours, but I can’t trade my integrity for any favours or homie points. I can’t trade my creative freedom for anything.

I think anyone that writes would love to write for a living. But when there are multiple stakeholders involved, your freedom over your art or content declines. I won’t allow myself to be trapped as just “the writer dude” or as your homie that blogs.

I want to be able to write what I want, I want to be able to stop writing and do something else, I don’t want to just write all day because if you really read what I write you’d know I can do so much more.
